Fish One of the South Platte’s Best Private Reaches
Only 4 Seats Remaining
Some stretches of river teach you more than others. Abell Ranch is one of them.
This private reach of the South Platte offers miles of classic trout water—riffles, seams, pocket water, and deep holding runs where trout thrive. It’s the kind of water that rewards anglers who know how to read it.
And that’s exactly what this school is designed to teach.
From June 1–4, The Fly Fishing School will host its Advanced Fly Fishing Skills for Western Rivers School at Abell Ranch near Lake George, Colorado.
For three days, you’ll fish and learn alongside experienced instructors who specialize in helping anglers unlock the patterns of Western trout rivers. You’ll spend lots of one on one time with instructors in groups no larger than 6 anglers.
Not in a classroom.
On the water.
What You'll Learn
This school focuses on the techniques serious Western anglers rely on most:
• Advanced nymphing systems
• Modern tight-line and Euro nymphing tactics
• Reading complex current seams
• Dry-dropper strategies
• Effective streamer presentations
• Efficient rigging and fly selection
• Casting improvements that translate directly to more fish

You’ll spend the majority of your time working directly with instructors on the river, refining your approach and seeing what truly works on productive water.

A Benefit for Trout Unlimited Members
We’re also excited to offer a special opportunity for TU members.
When you register using the code: PPCTU
$200 of your tuition will be donated to Trout Unlimited in your name.
It’s a chance to improve your fishing while supporting the conservation work that protects rivers like the South Platte.
Only 4 Spots Remain

This school is intentionally kept small so every participant receives significant one-on-one instruction.
That also means it fills quickly.
Right now, only four seats remain.
If you’ve ever wanted to spend several days learning on exceptional private water while sharpening your skills for Western trout rivers, this is your chance.
👉 Reserve your spot now
We hope to see some Trout Unlimited members on the river.
