Fishing Opportunities - South Park

Section divider type: wavesOpacity -- position: bottom

Fishing Opportunities Abound in South Park!

Colorado Parks and Wildlife provides substantial access to outstanding fishing opportunities in South Park. This area includes the Middle and South Fork of the South Platte River and several reservoirs from the head waters at 10,800 in Alma down to 8,500 feet at 11-Mile Reservoir . Some of these are world famous gold metal waters like the Dream Stream in Charlie Meyers SWA, Spinney Mountain Reservoir, Tomahawk SWA. There are 58-miles of stream and river access, 22 miles of access in Badger basin SWA alone! Unfortunately, there are areas like the south fork below Antero Reservoir that is a poster child for what can go wrong when an area if overgrazed. But this provides an opportunity for CMCTU to restore in collaboration with CPW

Below are links where you can get an idea of all the opportunities to fish in the South park area offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. And if you are willing to work for your fishing don’t forget the headwaters streams in the surrounding Pike National Forest including Lost Creek Wilderness.
