Clean the Canyon

The Pikes Peak Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be sponsoring a “Clean the Canyon” event on April 23rd, Saturday.

Volunteers are being sought to pick up trash along the South Platte River as it passes through Eleven Mile Canyon just south of Lake George, CO

Lake George is located 39 miles west of Colorado Springs on US Highway 24

For this event we will be meeting at 9:00 AM at the parking area just before the entrance road to the canyon (look for the TU event sign). We will have donuts and coffee/OJ there. We will provide garbage bags, buckets and grabbers. We will meet for lunch at the 11 Mile picnic area.

Volunteers will not need a Canyon Day Pass.

Items to bring with you:

· Gloves
· Hat
· Good Footwear
· Rain gear and appropriate clothing for the weather.
· Sunscreen
· Waders if you intend to cross the stream (optional)
